| THE COMING OF DAWN | |
| March 24, 2011 |
|
| A friend of mine has been planning a comedy show called Dawn Ave. It just so happens that I've been recruited to wear many hats on this project, including the website design, so you should go check the sexiness right now. The show is currently accepting donations to get the first few episodes off the ground, so if you like what you see, definitely try and donate anything to help them along! They've got some pretty sweet prizes for certain donations and there's also a video teaser of the show for those who might want to take a look at what they are investing in. Overall, it's a really big project that they have spent tireless months preparing and now it's all starting to really kick into gear. So go to dawnave.com now! | |
| GOTTA MIX 'EM ALL! | |

After 4+ years, Overclocked ReMix presents, Pokemon: The Missingno Tracks! I remember when recruiting was going on for this project way back in 2006, a wet-behind-the-ears remixer who surprised the project director (and myself :P ) with a symphony of synths and drums. Since the project began, I have had one remix posted to OCR, two other remixes that gained some notoriety in the Grand Robot Master Remix Battle, been recruited to another project which will also be released soon, and produced two videos for OCR's live performances. Not to mention late in the project's life I took up the role of website designer for the project. So the song that will be posted to the front of OCR in the next week is actually older than any of those achievements, but yesterday was the first time anyone outside of the project or judges panel has heard it :P. While we're talking about OCR, the Wanderer On The Offensive video that I did awhile back won the contest and was used as a background video for a live performance of the song at MAGFest 9! OCR loved the video so much that they actually asked me to do some more, though I'm not sure if I can mention what games/remixes they are for, so check out OCR's panel at PAX East '11 to see more OCLive pwnage!
| RANT AND...WELL, YOU KNOW | |
| January 17, 2011 |
|
| Well I wrote a new [RANT] (it's about time. My last one was in September). It's about The Social Network and not really any spoilers so if you wanna check it out head on over. Nothing else going on, though I am thinking about a redesign of the site. It's in good condition now, but soon I do want overhaul it and build it from the ground up to be better. If you wonder why I'm always tearing down and rebuilding the site every other year or so, I refer you to this nugget of truth. :P | |
| MOVE INTO A BETTER PLACE | |

Another year? 2010 certainly proved that it's gotta get worse before it gets better. Hopefully that means 2011 will be better. 2010 was a year of displacement and turbulence for my employment, finances, schoolwork, and general well-being. But despite missing MAGFest 9 (there is no emoticon for the sadness of that fact), 2011 seems like it could be a good year. Started the year off with good times with friends and finances seem to be stabilizing thanks to a few steps backward (and passing up MAGFest). Not to intimate that my happiness is directly tied to video games (it is), 2011 looks to be an excellent year. Christmas this year included for me, the PlayStation Move. Holy crap is this thing accurate and responsive! The pack-in game, Sports Champions is extremely fun (especially the Gladiator Duels) and a few demos (namely the light gun-ish rail shooter The Shoot) are pretty fun as well. I can only hope some awesome third-party support will make the Move shine even brighter. Beyond the great potential of the Move, there is also a list of sequels that promise to keep a strong repertoire for the games industry this year. MvC 3 in Feburary, Portal 2 in April, Forza 4 and Batman: Arkham City in the fall, and ES V: Skyrim rounding out the holiday season. Oh yeah, it's gonna be a good year...
| MUSIC VIDEO | |

| Wow, has it been that long since I posted something? I have been pretty busy between swapping jobs, surviving school, and trying to keep my life in one piece :P Anyway, OCR decided (unbeknownst to me) that they wanted someone to do a music video for a remix I worked on. It quickly became a contest to choose the best music video. Considering most of my videos on YouTube are this exact sort of entertainment, I would have been CRAZY not to have entered the contest. So I did. Judging begins a in a few days, so I guess only time will tell. Go check the video out for yourself in the Video page! | |

Well, it's official. Scott Pilgrim vs The World is the nerdiest movie I have ever seen. The Wizard? Yeah right. Super Mario Bros? Please. Hackers? Don't make me laugh. Every scene is meticulously crafted with tons of geek gags, gaming sound cues, and dorky dialogue that will have you ROFLMAOOL for the entirety of the movie. I may have even missed some because I was laughing so much. I need to see it again... Anyway, it also featured some very unique filmmaking which is what the newest [RANT] is about, so go over there and check it out. The soundtrack is also mega-nerdy, with a mix of pop punk, chiptunes, break beats, and bellowing orchestral colliding for great sonic justice in my ears. Not to mention chip-punk sensation Anamanaguchi did the soundtrack for the tie-in video game. They're playing the geek card as much as they can and me likes :D So if you haven't seen Scott Pilgrim yet, DO IT NOW. You will not regret it. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go get a life......I mean a 1up......you know cuz......GO SEE THE MOVIE.
