A LITTLE BIT OF MEH
February 22, 2010
Well I lost the Grand Robot Remix Battle to zircon, but I put up a good fight! (21-34). Funny enough, right after voting began, I bought Shreddage, a guitar sample library that he worked on. Also might have splurged on Guitar Rig 4 and in the near future, Kontakt 4 (since Kontakt Player is severe cocktease) and maybe Apple Rhythm Section, and maybe some Addictive Drums.....

Yeah, I'm getting a little carried away. For being a little more than a digital music hobbyist, I waste an awful lot of money on it :P Nothing else really going on now and complacency has started to settle in, which is never good. No new games out that I want, no big events coming up, nothin'. Meh.

EPIC UPDATE...SORT OF
January 17, 2010
Holy crap it's 2010?! Where has the time gone?

Well, lots of new stuff going on around here. Second semester of school has started for me and one thing in particular is that our database management class got a subscription to MSDNAA, which means tons of FREE SOFTWARE. The trick is, this software is from Microsoft, which implies the use of Windows...

So I dual-booted my laptop with Windows 7 and boy is it sexy (and this is coming from a pretty strong Apple supporter). Now I have full access to both ends of the computer spectrum in one machine! Only thing that sucks now is accessing files on one side from another requires an external storage device. But I've found some good inexpensive hard drives so all will be well soon. Gonna have to update the About page with new software.

Oh yeah there was also this little thing called MAGFest that I went to which is easily the best video game convention ever. Seriously. Hung out with tons of OCR buddies, sat in on the OCAD MAGCast and rocked out to the best music the community has to offer. It's my one vacation and I love going every year. Definitely need to bring more money next time tho. All my souvenir money ended up covering various foodstuffs and poison consumables. :P While we're on the subject of game music, I have entered the OCR Grand Robot Master Remix Battle! I have currently won round 1 and round 2 has just begun! Much to do!

HIDDEN IN SHADOW....COMPLEX
November 12, 2009
As you may or may not know, I stumbled upon a beautiful little game a while ago called Shadow Complex. It's basically the company who made Gears of War using their flair for cinematic gameplay and super power armor and fusing it with Super Metroid. The combination is unmistakably awe inspiring and I decided to make a trailer to get people interested and express my own love for the game. As a bonus, there is also a song in the trailer by yours truly! The song (aptly named "Hidden In Shadow") was written specifically for this trailer and its been quite awhile since I actually sat down and wrote what came into my head. Very exciting indeed. Enjoy!

SCHOOL, MUSIC, AND FREE FOOD
September 17, 2009
Fate is a strange and horribly ironic creature.

Well I'm in school and I'm actually enjoying it. Taking a few classes at CCAC and then going to work keeps me busy and I like it. It sucks that I can't hang out all night like I used to, but I guess moving forward and actually accomplishing something is even better. I think I might actually be evolving into a responsible person. Weird.

Anyway, I signed up for MAGFest 8! I signed up as a Super Supporter, which means free swag and FREE FOOD. Nothin' like some fresh nerdlife to start the new year.

Interestingly enough, while I haven't put out any music for a while (save for some dabbling here and there), I just signed up for this Creative Music Society at CCAC. They seemed really excited to have a digital music person in their midst. So we'll see how that goes. I'm hoping my elevated attitude and some encouragement within this group will spur my muse again. I also signed up for the Video Game club but they meet on Fridays, which usually clashes with my schedule. I think I know enough nerds already though :P

Speaking of video games, The Protomen just released Act II of their disgustingly awesome Mega Man rock opera. CD is in the mail as we speak, as well as both of Armcannon's CD's. Awesome band that I unfortunately missed at MAGFest. Not this year...

WASTED YOUTH
July 4, 2009
Happy 4th of July.

Well if you are fortunate enough (or for some people unfortunate enough) to know the song "Everything Louder Than Everything Else" from Meatloaf, then you are getting a good glimpse into my state of mind. It's summer goddammit so why am I not enjoying myself more? Well next weekend is going to be excellent since me and friends are traveling to Cleveland.....(wait for it)........to see VNV Nation (you can wipe the confused look off your face now). Hopefully awesome music and plenty of alcohol will make up for a lackluster beginning to the summer.

Speaking of music, I finally wrote a new song. Check it out on the music page or just click here :P I know the compression is pretty thick, especially at the very end, but in my excitement I refused to spend an hour or so engineering the damn song just so people can hear it. Have I ever mentioned how freakin' lazy I am?

Other than that, not up to much. Since Duquesne doesn't like me, I'm preparing for CCAC for an Associate's Degree in IT. Then I plan on taking that over to RIT to enter their Game Development Degree. We'll see, my plans have a tendency to go awry if I plan too far ahead. The Art of War seems more appropriate to my life every day. Damn you Sun Tzu.

NO FATE BUT WHAT WE MAKE
May 9, 2009
Shadows of the future among us now
Consciousness hidden until the final hour
A crimson glare from behind those eyes
Silent screams in the flames as the atom divides

"We're not going to make it. People, I mean."
"It is in your nature to destroy yourselves."

"I know now why you cry, but it is something I can never do."
